QUICK FRUIT COBBLER

Preheat over to 350º.

Mix the following together: 1 pkg yellow cake mix; 2 tablespoons sugar; 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon; ¼ cup melted butter; ½ cup chopped nuts.

Spread mixture evenly over sliced fruit or berries (peaches, apples, or berries). Bake 35-40 minutes. Serve warm with ice cream or whipped cream.



SAWDUST JELLO
(Vicki and Vic Wyant, Venture)
1 3 oz package jello, any flavor (lime, lemon and orange work well)
1 15 oz can crushed pineapple, drained well
1 12 oz can mandarin oranges, drained well
1 small container small curd cottage cheese
1 9 oz container Cool Whip Topping

Sprinkle DRY jello over cottage cheese. Add fruits and Cool Whip. Stir together. Cover and chill until serving time.
Please note: no water is added to this recipe.

STOVETOP COBBLER

1 ½ cup flour
1 ½ teaspoon baking powder
¼ teaspoon salt
¼ cup sugar
¼ shortening
½ cup milk

Bring berries to simmer over medium/low heat adding about 1/3 cup sugar for each cup berries. You may thicken this if you like with about 1 Tablespoon cornstarch per 2 cups berries.

Mix together dry ingredients, cream shortening and sugar and combine the two. Stir in the milk. Drop the resultant batter by spoonfuls into the bubbling berries. Cover and cook about 10 minutes.

Serve hot with cream or milk, or may use Bird’s Custard Powder.
